About Us

Catherine

Catherine M. O’Brien is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been specializing in dermatology since 1999. She is the owner of Northern Nurse Practitioners – Family Health, PLLC in Watertown NY. She received her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Rochester. Catherine completed her master’s degree in 1998 at the University of Rochester as a pediatric family nurse practitioner and received her master’s degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Catherine grew up in Glenfield, NY. Her children are grown and she has two grandchildren who are the love of her life

Rachelle

Rachelle received her Associates in Nursing at Jeerson Community College in 2010; she then went on to get her Bachelor’s from Chamberlain College of Nursing and Master’s in nursing at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She is from Ontario, Canada but has lived in the area for 15 years with her husband and 2 children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Emily

Emily McGovern is a Family Nurse Practitioner. Emily received her Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing degree from Saint Elizabeth’s College of Nursing in 2015 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2016. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 6 years and obtained her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2021. Emily has always had an interest in dermatology and is excited to serve the North Country community in this specialty.

Emily grew up in Boonville, NY and permanently resides in Constableville, NY. She enjoys anything athletic and competitive and spending time with family and friends

Elissa

Elissa grew up in Brownville NY. She received her Masters in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Upstate Medical University in May 2012. She then moved to South Carolina where she worked in retail health (CVS MinuteClinic) and for the United Healthcare Housecalls Program. Elissa and her family relocated back to the area in October 2020, living in Dexter NY. She joined our practice in October 2020. In her downtime she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family

Michaela

I went to Jefferson Community College for her Registered Nursing (RN) degree. Once graduated with her RN, I worked as a bedside nurse at Samaritan Medical Center in both the Maternity Unit as well as the Orthopedic Unit. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through Plattsburgh College and my Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree through Utica College. While doing my FNP specialty clinical rotations, I was lucky enough to be able to complete them at NNP where I fell in love with the world of dermatology. I am a dog mom of an English Springer Spaniel named Remington “Remi” and I absolutely love spending my summers on the St Lawrence River.
